Lasers lights, fireworks, and a state-of-the-art stage, these are just some of the elements everyone experienced last October 24, 2013 at the Mall of Asia Arena when the 15 member Korean group Super Junior dazzled their Philippine fans.

Fans adorned with everything sapphire blue lined-up outside the Mall of Asia Arena as early as 8pm the night before the concert just to make sure they secure great spots inside the VIP pit. Thousands on the other hand, trooped early on concert day to interact with fellow fans before the concert.

Just as the doors of the Arena opened, all you can hear are endless screams of fans who eagerly waited for two years just to see their favorite Korean group return to the country for the one-night-only concert.

The show started past 7pm with jaw dropping 3D mapping sequence followed by their opening video showing the boys in James Bond type mini movie. One will also be in awe on how the Arena glowed blue with the fans light sticks, they call this the Sapphire Blue Sea.

Super Junior started their concert with their hit song 'Mr. Simple' which left the whole arena shaking with deafening screams. Super Show 5 in Manila became more special because this is the first time Kangin performed in front of the Philippine audience, he was doing military service during Super Junior's 2011 concert. Heechul on the other hand was just discharged from military service a few months ago and Super Show 5 Manila is his official comeback to the music scene.

Hit after hit, Super Junior performed their songs to the Pinoy fans who sang along with every song. The boys took it further with their fan service -- from exchanging handshakes to actually getting their cameras to take selcas (self camera / selfie), they kept their fans satisfied during their show.

Compared to past Super Show's held in the country, Super Show 5 focused more in group stages instead of individual performances. Their power dancers Shindong, Donghae, and Eunhyuk performed a powerful dance number, ending with the hit song 'Harlem Shake'.

KRY (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung) performed a lovely song, unfortunately Yesung is currently doing his 2 years mandatory military service, but the show still made Yesung's presence present by using a video insert of Yesung's part in the song.

Super Show won't be complete without any of the members performing in drag, this time it was Kangin, Ryeowook, Siwon, and Sungmin who performed. Covering different lady singers in Korea, the four boys had the whole arena laughing with their performance. Super Junior also went on stage as different superheroes as they performed some of their songs.

During their performance of 'Marry U' - a song with lyrics proposing to someone, Pinoy ELFs prepared a surprise for the boys. At the end of their song, fans from the upper box sections dropped a big banner showing the naughty line 'Fine, Let's make babies!' in Hangul. This surprised Super Junior as they didn't expect something like this from the fans. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of this part as I was seating directly in the area where the banner was revealed.

The show ended with a confetti shower and with Super Junior saying their final words to their Filipino fans. Chinese member Henry Lau also recalled that back in 2011 he said the Pinoy ELFs are the loudest crowd they have ever been to, and now, the Philippines is still the loudest country for this tour. They stated that they are looking forward to coming back to the Philippines soon for Super Show 6.

Super Junior "Super Show 5" in Manila is co-presented by ePlus Tap to Pay and Globe Telecom.
