Facebook Starts Beta Testing the New Facebook.com 2020

Facebook recently started their waitlist for the beta testing of the New Facebook.com that will be rolling out later this year to everyone. As of the moment, the Beta testing waitlist is by invite online and chosen users should see a notification on the top of their home screen with a link to facebook.com/new where they would need to click the 'Join the waitlist' button.

The home page features a new sleek look similar to Facebook's mobile app look but with 3 column format. The tabs for videos, marketplace, groups, and games can be found on the upper part of the home page while settings, events, and more are found on the left side of the screen. Notifications is still on the upper right of the screen but is now integrated in the screen instead of pop-up.

Profile page gets a makeover as well on the New Facebook.com with the profile photo now centered, giving a more clean look to the profile page similar to its mobile app counterpart. The search bar and notification buttons are now hovering on top instead of a solid bar like what it currently look like.

The much requested and awaited feature Dark Mode is finally coming to the New Facebook.com. The new dramatic look of the New Facebook.com's Dark Mode is great on the eyes and as Facebook said, gives your eyes a break from screen glare.

Lastly, the New Facebook.com will be giving desktop users an option not only to view and react to Facebook Stories but to also post stories via desktop, which is great not only for personal users but also for business pages who want to push out stories on Facebook.

As mentioned in the beginning of this article, the New Facebook.com 2020 Beta Testing is still by invitation via Facebook notification. If you still don't have the notification, you may check Facebook.com/new from time to time to see if you are eligible to test the new look.

The Dilemma of Choosing The Perfect Home Entertainment Companion for the Modern Family

Unlike normal home appliances that get worn out fast, Televisions are not regularly replaced in typical Pinoy homes. We tend to get attached to it and use it for years until it breaks down, but once the time comes for you to replace your beloved TV you'll end up with a question - What TV do I get?

Step into a typical Filipino home and you'll find that the TV is the main focal point of the house. For instance, the living room is set up in a way that the sofa faces the entertainment system. Pinoys can't help it because we love our telenovelas and movies.

Because I work at home, I usually have the TV on for more than 8 hours a day, it keeps me entertained and at the same time gives me that quick break when workload piles up. I haven't upgraded my entertainment system in a while and still using the 42" Sony Bravia TV that I bought a few years ago, it still works flawlessly but it's not a smart TV so I tend to just connect my laptop via HDMI when the need occurs.

Now back to the question, when the time comes that you need an upgrade on your home TV, how will you decide what to get for the family? I've been checking out the latest ones in the market and I think I found the perfect one for any modern family, the Sony Bravia X8000D.

Why is the Sony BRAVIA X8000D the Perfect Home Entertainment Companion for the Modern Family?

Definitely, number one reason why I think the Sony BRAVIA X8000D is a great choice is that it comes from Sony. My family has been a Sony product user since I was young and the quality is really superior. But aside from being from Sony, the BRAVIA X8000D also packs a mighty punch when it comes to what it can offer.

Image: Sony Philippines Website

The first thing that I love about this is its Connectivity - it's Android and can be easily connected to the internet, no more connecting my laptop to the TV via HDMI. And because it's a Sony Android TV, the family can enjoy using apps from the Google Play Store, you can even connect your mobile devices wirelessly through its Built-in Google Chromecast, perfect for Netflix movie nights with the family!

Image: Sony Philippines Website

As for picture quality, it boasts a stunning 4K Ultra HD resolution and 4K X-Reality PRO to enhance every picture you play on your entertainment system. And because it doesn't stop with just clear picture, you also need vibrant colors, this is where Bravia's TRILUMINOS Display comes in, this feature means no more oversaturated & unnatural colors on your screen.

As for other features that stood out, the X-Protection PRO: Xtra Protection TV is a perfect feature included in this series. What they basically did is they made this TV stronger, as it has advanced protection against electrical surges and unstable electricity, no more worrying when it's the rainy season where we experience a lot of sudden power outages. Aside from that, it also has an anti-humidity coating on the circuit board to prevent short-circuits caused by high moisture. Awesome feature fit for the Philippine climate!

Image: Sony Philippines Website

Last on my reason why this is perfect is because of its sleek minimalist design. I love how they made this series beautifully designed to fit into any home with slim style and polished metal accents.

They even thought about the cables at the back with a nice Cable Management set-up that keeps the wires out of sight as it runs down through the center of the stand at the back.

I can still list down more reasons why the Sony BRAVIA X8000D series is perfect for any modern family home but this blog post might get too long 😄. Just head to the Sony Philippines Website for more details about the Sony BRAVIA X8000D series and where you could get one.

Insane Deals at the Digital Walker Christmas Comes Early Sale!

The 'ber months are here and when Pinoys celebrate Christmas it's almost synonymous to sale! Speaking of sale, Digital Walker recently announced their #DWChristmasComesEarly sale and I just knew I need to be there for my early holiday shopping.

Early Friday morning, I found myself inside SM Megamall before stores even opened together with a few early birds who came for one thing -- to get first dibs at the great deals that Digital Walker has prepared for early Christmas shoppers like myself.

As expected with any sale, lines went insanely long as the mall opened at 10am that it already reached the ground floor of the mall! Luckily, I was on the 10th spot in front of the line and was giddy for the doors to open at 12 noon!

We came in by batch, whenever someone goes out they let people in. I love the event organizers here because the system is actually better as to not crowd the products area too much in one go.

As soon as we went in, I immediately grabbed a shopping bag and checked the items on sale. The place is divided into different areas depending on how the big the discount it, the left most part is for the items with 90% off, then 70%, 50%, and 30% off.

Prices on items are not yet the discounted price so you need to bring out your calculator to compute how much the price is after the discount - you can also ask the staff for assistance about pricing.

Camera enthusiasts and travelers had a grand time choosing their new Crumpler Bags which are all 90% off as well. Really sorry for the blurry photos as we are hurrying up to get what we wanted hehe.

We also spotted Marshall Major and Minors on sale at the 30% off, too bad they were still waiting for the restock of the black & gold Major while we're there (and restocked when we're already at the cashier), I'd totally grab that right away.

Check out took a little time even though there are like 15 cashiers, once we got closer to the cashier we realized they are manually doing the receipts ala-CDR King style, not sure what's up with that but it made us wait for almost an hour in line.

Shopping Haul: We saved 9,245php today!

Here's my favorite part when I go shopping, looking through the stuff I bought and finding out how much I saved if I got them in regular price!

Here's a quick look at my shopping haul which consists of mostly red items for some reason - this was not intended but I had good laugh when I got home and saw it.

Clockwise:
  • Quirky Dock - 215 from 2150
  • Crumpler Camera Strap - 100 from 1050
  • Native Union Case - 100 from 1800
  • Incipio Case - 100 from 1295
  • Urbanears Medis Plus - 885 from 2950
  • Speck iPad Mini Flip - 200 from 1600

Overall, my total is 1600 but when you check out the original prices, I actually saved 9,245 today which feels so awesome because I have these new items at the fraction of the price!

Feeling itchy to shop? Well you're in luck because the Digital Walker Christmas Comes Early Sale is still on until October 2, 2016 at the SM Megamall - Megatrade Hall 3. Make sure to come really early as lines tend to get really long fast. Happy Shopping! :)

Disclosure: This blog post is no way sponsored by Digital Walker - yes, I fell in line like all of you too. :P

All your music in TheKube!

Who doesn't love music? I love listening to American pop, Korean pop, House, and some nice OPM. I always make sure that all my favorite tunes are all synced in my devices so that whatever I bring with me, I always have my tunes. As we all know, technology right now really eats a lot of the juices from our devices, imagine listening to songs for 6 straight hours, you're phone is bound to get drained. That's why I still prefer to have a separate music player for so I can save the juice from my other devices.

Recently, I discovered a new music player that can really define the saying "Great things comes in small packages", and this is what I'm about to show you, a nifty music device that can fit in the palm of your hands, no kidding!

TheKube is a nifty music player that is so small, you wouldn't think it could pack a nice punch to music lovers. Encased in a nano cube, your music still comes out rich and incredible once you plugged your earphones in.

TheKube is packed in a nice transparent plastic container showing you the actual device and some specifications at front, while at the back shows some of the guides on how to use the device properly. Inside, you'll find the other contents: TheKube unit, earphones, MicroSD card reader, and USB-Micro USB connector.

I like the fact that you only need a microSD card which you can expand up to 32GB! That means you can store up to around 8000 songs in this bad boy, I just plugged my extra 2GB microSD and placed it in the included MicroSD reader to load it with some songs, then I just plugged it to my TheKube player and start playing some nice tunes!

I was surprised that the stock headphones included actually produces some sweet sound, I was actually expecting that it'll sound crappy because let's be real, most stock headphones included in gadgets sucks. I think they included a nice headphones so you can actually use it right away out of the box.

I'm playing with my TheKube for quite some time and now I can't even go out without it, since it's so small, I can just put it in my pocket and pull it out when I want to listen to some music. And just like what Alexbamin3D traditionally do, we need to rate it! We're giving it 4 glasses for it's unique look and quality.

4 glasses for it's look, package, and quality! Woohoo!

If you're ready to get your own TheKube unit, head on over to TheKube Philippines on Facebook and order your own unit, you can choose from a lot of very funky color depending on your style. TheKube Player is priced at P1399 and is shipped free nationwide.
