Every Gulp Counts at 7-Election!

Monday, April 22, 2013 Alexis Mendoza 0 Comments

It's election time once again, and while we count down the days to May 13, why not study first who you're voting for and voice it out via 7-Election! Wait, you don't know what's 7-Election?

7-Election is 7-Eleven's fun way to get the pulse of the people in the upcoming elections via their Gulp® cups. Customers may vote by purchasing any 16oz Gulp® beverage (from the selection Coke, Pepsi or Del Monte Gulp® drinks) featuring the three designs of the different senatorial coalitions.

I dropped by 7-Eleven Paramount branch and checked out the 7-Election first hand. Each 7-Eleven branch has one of these tally boards showing the leading candidates in their store, as well as overall leaders for all the branches nationwide, this list is updated weekly.

People who wishes to participate just need to go to the Gulp® drinks area of their favorite 7-Eleven branch, choose from the cups, fill it up with the drink they like, and pay at the cashier.

Customer filling up their chosen cups with their refreshing Gulp® drinks!

There are 3 available cup designs to choose from; yellow cup representing Team PNoy, Orange cup representing United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) and the white cup for independent candidates as well as smaller parties such as Ang Kapatiran, Bangon Muna, Democratic, Makabayan and Social Justice.

If you're wondering how do they tally the cup votes, well here's how each purchase of a Gulp® drink in any of the cup designs counts as a vote for the respective parties. There are barcodes in each cup which reflects a vote for that party. As for the white cup featuring multiple parties, the barcode for the party of the customer’s choice will be scanned to accurately reflect the vote just like those for the UNA and PNOY cups.

Aside from the store activities, you can also vote for your favorite candidates via 7-election.com.ph by logging in via Facebook or Twitter, no purchase is need to vote online. You can also upload your photo with your chosen party on the website or check who is leading the poll in different areas via an interactive map. I checked out the Paramount branch where I dropped by to see who's leading.

Voting in all 7-Eleven stores is until May 6, 2013, while the final results will be released online as well as in stores on May 7, 2013. You still have time to go to your nearest 7-Eleven branch and grab your own Gulp® cups! Don't forget to take a picture and upload it via social media with the official hashtag #7Election!

DISCLAIMER: This is an unscientific and unofficial survey supported solely by the company, done in the spirit of fun, without additional questions and restrictions as to the age of the voter and frequency of votes, and hence may not be considered to reflect any sentiments regarding any official survey or any upcoming elections. This is in line with the sales promotional activity for 7-Eleven Stores’ Gulp® Products conducted from March 20 to May 6, 2013.

All your music in TheKube!

Saturday, April 20, 2013 Alexis Mendoza 0 Comments

Who doesn't love music? I love listening to American pop, Korean pop, House, and some nice OPM. I always make sure that all my favorite tunes are all synced in my devices so that whatever I bring with me, I always have my tunes. As we all know, technology right now really eats a lot of the juices from our devices, imagine listening to songs for 6 straight hours, you're phone is bound to get drained. That's why I still prefer to have a separate music player for so I can save the juice from my other devices.

Recently, I discovered a new music player that can really define the saying "Great things comes in small packages", and this is what I'm about to show you, a nifty music device that can fit in the palm of your hands, no kidding!

TheKube is a nifty music player that is so small, you wouldn't think it could pack a nice punch to music lovers. Encased in a nano cube, your music still comes out rich and incredible once you plugged your earphones in.

TheKube is packed in a nice transparent plastic container showing you the actual device and some specifications at front, while at the back shows some of the guides on how to use the device properly. Inside, you'll find the other contents: TheKube unit, earphones, MicroSD card reader, and USB-Micro USB connector.

I like the fact that you only need a microSD card which you can expand up to 32GB! That means you can store up to around 8000 songs in this bad boy, I just plugged my extra 2GB microSD and placed it in the included MicroSD reader to load it with some songs, then I just plugged it to my TheKube player and start playing some nice tunes!

I was surprised that the stock headphones included actually produces some sweet sound, I was actually expecting that it'll sound crappy because let's be real, most stock headphones included in gadgets sucks. I think they included a nice headphones so you can actually use it right away out of the box.

I'm playing with my TheKube for quite some time and now I can't even go out without it, since it's so small, I can just put it in my pocket and pull it out when I want to listen to some music. And just like what Alexbamin3D traditionally do, we need to rate it! We're giving it 4 glasses for it's unique look and quality.

4 glasses for it's look, package, and quality! Woohoo!

If you're ready to get your own TheKube unit, head on over to TheKube Philippines on Facebook and order your own unit, you can choose from a lot of very funky color depending on your style. TheKube Player is priced at P1399 and is shipped free nationwide.

Last March 24, 2013 Chef's Classics in cooperation with SM Homeworld, The SM Store and SM Mall of Asia held the first Chef's Classics Dance n' Cook: A Celebration of Womanhood event. The event was also done in celebration of the Womens Month.

As the event title suggests, the event was not only focused on cooking but also with over-all wellness. A Zumba class was done at the start of the event where awesome participants Zumba-ed infront of spectators at the Mall of Asia Entertainment mall.

Activities were also prepared by sponsors such as Carnation Milk where people needs to solve a tricky puzzle under a few seconds to win a nice gift pack containing Carnation products, just in time for your summer fiestas.

The highlight of the event are the live cooking demos presented by celebrity chefs using Chefs Classic products. The event was hosted by Unang Hirit's resident host Regine Tolentino while the first chef of the day was Chef Jeremy Favia of TV5 travel & cooking show Take out.

Chef Jeremy Favia's finished creation
Raffles we're done in between the cooking demos where the audience who registered for free gets a chance to win Chef's Classics kitchen products, Carnation gift packs, and Goody products. I luckily won myself a nice Chef's Classic product in the raffle. Yay!

Mr. Lemuel Africa of Chef's Classics doing the raffle
Chef Mitchie Sison was the second Chef to prepare a delicious dish, this time using Carnation milk products. She prepared two delicious dishes in just a few minutes, of course, everyone in the audience got to try all the delicious dishes prepared by the two Chefs.

Chef's Classics is taking their cooking demo events on the road with an event happening on SM Cebu this April and more venues in the coming months! Make sure to Like Chef's Classic on Facebook and Follow Chef's Classics on Twitter to be updated on upcoming delicious events!
