Shipping from the US to Philippines Made Easy with LBC Shipping Cart
Online shopping is fun and convenient, just click a few times and viola, your orders are on the way. The only problem when buying things from outside the country is shipping, it’s either too expensive or too long to get delivered. Add to the hassle of buying internationally is the hassle of dealing with customs once your item successfully arrives in the Philippines.
In search of a way to shop, ship, and save, I searched online and found a few services that do forwarding from the US to the Philippines. I actually tried one a couple of years ago but it’s expensive and you still need to pick up your package in one of their branches instead of delivering it door to door. I recently found myself searching for new forwarding service since I wanted to buy this book that is not available in the country already, that’s when I found LBC Shipping Cart.
LBC Shipping Cart is a service from LBC where they’ll give you a US address so you can shop online and get it delivered to your US address, once it arrives to their warehouse in California, you have to option to shop more and consolidate before shipping or just immediately ship your item.
What's great about them is that the cost that will show up upon payment of your package is the only thing you need to pay; no other payment needs to be done once your package arrives in the Philippines. Best of all, they deliver your package straight to your door!
FIRST TIME WITH LBC SHIPPING CART
What made me decide to go with LBC Shipping Cart is because the book that I wanted is 3 lbs heavy and they have the cheapest rate. Also, the book I wanted was on sale for only $3 at Amazon. I registered at www.lbcshippingcart.ph it's now www.shippingcart.com and immediately got my ‘US Address’ that I can use when buying stuff online in the US. I added it to my Amazon addresses and ordered July 18th via Standard Shipping.
Days passed and it was marked shipped. After that, I managed to track where my order is via the convenient USPS website, it was July 29th when the package was marked delivered. At the same day, I also received an email from LBC Shipping Cart confirming the receipt of my order from Amazon.
It popped up in my items list August 1st. One thing to note about LBC Shipping Cart is that they open your package and takes a photo of it for you to see in your items list. Once your item arrives in your items list, there will be two options on how you will ship it, via air or sea, the latter is cheaper but takes longer to arrive in the Philippines.
You have 30 days free storage time so you can wait for other items if you want them to consolidate and ship them at the same time but since this is the only item I ordered, I decided to ship out right away. I picked via Air and immediately got the final computation of how much I have to pay.
I proceeded to check out and used a discount coupon active during that time which is Prime24 to celebrate Amazon Prime Day; it gave me a 24% discount. I decided to pay via PayPal, but the first few attempts to complete my check out gave me an error, it took me several tries before my payment got through.
A couple of days later – August 3rd, I received an email from Shipping Cart informing me that my package has been shipped; it also included a tracking number. My package’s arrival date got moved a few times before it was delivered 10 days later, August 13th.
My book is placed safely inside an LBC Box with extra air plastics. Also placed inside the box is the photo they took of my item when it arrived in their warehouse. Maybe they use this make sure nothing get left behind in their warehouse before ship out.
Overall, I love my first time experience with LBC Shipping Cart as it only took 13 days from check-out, shipment, to delivery, also no hassle of dealing with customs! So let’s see how long it took from ordering to deliver;
Amazon:
July 18th – July 29th = 12 Days
LBC Shipping Cart:
August 1st – August 13th = 13 Days
SECOND TIME USING LBC SHIPPING CART
Second time using LBC Shipping Cart is much convenient than the first one since I already know what to do. This time, I decided to buy multiple items from Ebay, some are via bidding – one of which is an original Tommy Hilfiger walking shorts that I won for only $13 instead of the SRP $64!
The only difference this time is that my packages came from different sellers and I have to track them each until they all arrive safely in my US Address. Once it all shows up in your items list, you can just check them all and choose your shipping method. It was October 22nd when I shipped them out of the warehouse to the Philippines.
If you’re curious on what is the ‘Insured Value Item’ there, that’s just additional insurance for your items. You can actually put whatever amount you want in that field like the actual value of your item, it’s free as long as it does not exceed $100 as insurance is free up to $100, it will also not change your grand total. I paid them via PayPal again & never experienced any error this time, I also used a discount code I saw online WEEKEND12 where I got a 12% off to my total check out bill. Sweet!
I unfortunately forgot to screenshot my check out for my second transaction but the total weight is also around 3lbs like my first one and the total is 1,176php but because I use a discount code, grand total went down to 1,050php.
A week passed and I almost forgot about my order, I checked online October 27th and surprised to see my items are already out for delivery. It turns out that it was faster this time than the first time I ordered.
And true enough, it was late afternoon of the same day when the LBC delivery guy rang our doorbell and handed me the box. The box this time is bigger than my last order, they used a Small Balikbayan Box when they consolidated my orders.
Inside are my orders all placed securely. What I like about them is that they take it out of their individual boxes and just consolidate them into the tiniest box available for them to fit everything, this saves you money compared to other companies who ships out WITH box for each package, some even don’t offer consolidation.
I guess I found my new favorite US to Manila forwarding service. It’s convenient, fast, and gets the job done with the hassle of dealing with customs or additional surprise charges once it arrives in the country. Have you tried LBC Shipping Cart? Let us know your experience in the comments below!
