Detalle, A Hidden Gem at Ortigas Center

If you hear Ortigas Center some of the things that'll pop-up on your head are tall buildings, offices, malls, and more delicious places to eat. But we bet you didn't know that there's one particular restaurant and bar that doesn't want to be noticed? They wanted you to discover them.

Located at the corner of Julia Vargas and Meralco Avenue lies a very inconspicuous place for those who want to escape the busy everyday life and just chill over delicious food and good drinks. It's called DETALLE Bar & Kitchen. More about it after the jump.

My office mates and I recently visited the Detalle for a weekend chill within the Ortigas Center. The two-storey building with no signage gave off an industrial type vibe which completely changes one you go inside. The first floor is where you'll find their first bar and dining area, it features wood and metal accents which complete goes with their industrial theme.

But since we just wanted to chill, we proceeded to the second level, an al fresco area with comfy couches and a second bar to prepare your drinks. The second level is overlooking the tall building of Ortigas as well as the busy Julia Vargas.

Now on with the grubs and drinks, we actually had a blast trying their food and drinks throughout the night. As you've noticed, we started the fun way early - see the photo above with the sun only starting to set. We started with a few beers and cocktails like the Red Sangria (P250), Mercalco Blackout (P290) Screwdriver (P230), and the one below which is the Holiday Mojito (P280).

We enjoyed it a lot together with a few bottle of local beer before we proceeded with ordering some grub. First on our list is their Margherita Pizza (P250) which definitely goes well with our cold bottle of beer. We followed it up with their house specialty, Crispy Pig's Ears (P270), if you're wondering what it tastes like, it's deep fried pig's ears with balsamic glaze and an apple goat cheese cream dip. I like it but I think it's missing a little saltiness to it since I love eating salty things to go with my drink.

We just have to order a second round of grub after finishing up our orders in just a few minutes. Drunken Fish n' Chips (P280) pictured below and Basque Fried Chicken (P280) are the two grubs we ordered for our second round together with more cocktails & beer.

We ended the night with a round of Jack n' Coke and left Detalle with satisfied faces. If you're interested to visit Detalle soon, below is map of their place, your best landmark is a giant billboard directly above their place.
